Chapter Meeting February 2004

TOPIC: "How to Position Yourself as an Expert with the National Media"

The TOP RATED presentation at the 2003 IMC USA Conference is coming to Chicago on February 13.

Clients don't hire consultants; they want experts.  If you want to add "expert" to your brand - and don't have time to write a book - you can publish an industry report.  Learn from one consultant who established her expertise by doing just that.  She'll take you step-by-step through the process for selecting a topic, gathering research, attracting the media, and using your report to garner new clients.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Identify the "HOT TOPICS" that will benefit your practice and contribute to a report the media reports;
  • Curb costs by using secondary research for your report;
  • Master the secrets to gain media exposure for your report and yourself

Rebecca Ryan published the "Hot Jobs - Cool Communities Report" to establish herself as an expert on strategies to attract and keep young talent.  It worked.  Her report catapulted her into the national media and more importantly, into relationships with high-level economic buyers.

IMC-Chicago members remember Rebecca from her 2002 presentation on "Marketing Consulting Services to the Next Generation."  If you missed Rebecca last year, don't miss her again.  For a sense of her energy, consider that Rebecca drinks coffee from a cup that reads, "Well behaved women rarely make history."

Join us for an exciting and information-rich session!
