In training design and delivery, we use action learning with real-life case and assignments. Some examples of Sales Training are Selling Skills (basic to advanced), Negotiation Skills, and Customer Strategic Planning. Examples of Management Training are Leadership Skills, Performance Management, Team Building.

Business Planning and Organizational Development examples are process improvement, GE Workout, organization assessment design and strategic planning.

Competency and skills are identified using your strategic plan, customer feedback both internally and externally and benchmarking with other key companies. The competencies and skills are then defined using behavioral benchmarks and a process is developed to assess each employee. Competencies and skills are critical in recruitment and selection, performance management, development and succession planning.

We work with clients in individual and executive coaching and development and business coaching.

Professional Background

Sheryl A. Koning, President, founded Koning Associates in 1999. Ms. Koning has over 25 years experience as a consultant and a manager. She knows the inner workings of corporate America and she knows corporate America's customer.

Ms. Koning worked in Human Resource Recruiting, Corporate Training, Human Resource Development and Sales at The Quaker Oats Company. She has worked with all Functions in an organization as well as Corporate, Broker, Distributor, and Customer personnel from senior management to entry level employees.

Sheryl holds a Bachelors Degree in Organization Behavior and Personnel from Northwestern University and is certified in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

Ms. Koning is a member of Institute of Management Consultants, Human Resources Management Association of Chicago, Organization Development Network, National Association of Women Business Owners, Wilmette Chamber of Commerce, Northbrook Chamber of Commerce, and US Women's Chamber of Commerce. She is also Chair of the Board of The Josselyn Center.
